Conforme a ISO/IEC 17799:2005, item 11.1, a Gestão da Continuidade do Negócio tem por objetivo não permitir, ou minimizar, a interrupção das atividades do negócio e proteger os processos críticos contra efeitos de falha ou desastres significativos, sendo um dos controles imprescindíveis para as melhores práticas de Segurança da Informação.
